Gravity is working against me
My favorite non-pop John Mayer song (basically only songs from his newest album, Continuum) is Gravity. Aside from being an avid fan of Mayer and his perfection of a Strat tone in Gravity, I find this song important because of Mayer's application of this abstract scientific principle of a force that is continuously pulling us towards the Earth's core to our everyday lives. Music is an essential part of the educational experience. It pains me to see that schools are continuing to lose their music programs; cutting jobs, reducing classes, and eliminating music requirements. Most schools do not have general music classes for students in grades eight or above. Some high schools have "Fine Arts" requirements, but this could allow a student to take only art classes.
