Economic DownFall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed yesterday at just above 8,500. If it drops another 1,500 points then it will have dropped 50% From October 9th, 2007(which by the way, is the highest it had ever reached at 14,164). People say this is a sign of Economic collapse or at least a recession.

As a senior in high school looking forward to entering college next year, I look at the stock market and tuition prices with woe. With today's economy going down the bucket, I ask myself "Why?" Well, I believe there are several factors that contribute to this.

In retrospect, perhaps I should have watched the vice-presidential debate on my own. And yet, despite the economic system, whether the intent is to create and regulate a monopoly (as socialist countries attempt to do) or to facilitate as much competition as possible (as is the intent of pure capitalism) never has a government been able to rid itself of monopolies.

We all deserve to climb the socioeconomic ladder without falling down from bureaucratic pressures. In order for this to happen more often and more obviously, the government needs to play a larger role in financing education. Loans make students' lives miserable. Who's to say that all students can finish college, get a lucrative job, and pay off all loans within a predetermined time frame?

America's Economic Downfall

America is on the fast track to economic ruin! Our government
politicians are far too concerned with financial gain and far too little
concerned about the long term effects of sending our technology, manufacturing
companies, and American jobs to places like China and India. I can't tell
you how many times I have called customer service and was connected with
