Broad prosperity

Today I found myself in an awkward situation as I witnessed the effects of the recession on a dear friend of mine.

I usually hate entering in the abortion debate, since it's rather clear that we have two sets of people who will not budge from their positions. But, this particular aspect of the debate just fueled my fury.

I recently finished the book "War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning" by Chris Hedges for the second time. It is an infinitely interesting account of a war correspondent's experiences in war-torn countries, but it is also infinitely disturbing. Even the title itself makes me shy away, not wanting to believe what I'm reading and this continues through the entire book.

So, ProgressiveU has been down as most of you have undoubtedly noticed by now. And you even managed to survive an entire weekend without it. Now that we're back up and running after the server issue (heretofore known as the Great Server Debacle... because it sounds cool); I thought I would start the resumption of blogging festivities by continuing (sort of) my last entry.

On July 18th, 2008, Al Gore took a bold step forward...and a much needed one (1).

Human beings cannot do whatever they want. If they really could do whatever they wanted, than anyone could do anything without having any negative consequences...
therefore, there must be some larger underlying force than the human being.
