I'm much more likely to listen to what my friends are saying than I am to what anyone else is saying. That's not to say I'm going to agree with them or that my opinion is going to change because of what they believe, but these are generally the people I'm conversing with. We talk about politics and religion and all the other interesting topics and so they tend to be the ones who give me items to consider that I might not have previously considered. In that way, they are a lot more likely to influence my opinion than my parents, instructors, the media, etc.

I have to change my reasoning. I didn't realize the question was about me personally. I still pick the last choice because my parents and friends are most influential.

but in reality, it depends on what kind of opinions. My parents influence my opinions about what I do NOT want to be.

Media influences my opinions about what the rest of the world cares about and its priorities (which is pretty damned shameful).

friends help me shape my opinions, they give me information or feedback that I use to refine my ideas.

Instructors and mentors have had the biggest influence on my life, in terms of helping me turn around and change my direction, so that is a pretty big deal for me, but I am not influenced by them at the same rate I am by other things which are parts of the continuum of my daily experiences.

I did instructors and mentors. I tend to respect the opinion of someone I like who has authority on the topic.
The other options definitely contribute, but it's mainly instructors and mentors.

Out of curiosity, since you are homeschooled, do you include parents or yourself as instructors?

Well, I don't really look up to myself as an instructor, but I basically am my own instructor...I write my lesson plans, do my work, check my stuff, study way too much because I don't have a study guide, take my tests, and submit them. The program I use has counselors I can call when I'm stuck and I sometimes call some friends who've gone through my program with questions. The program grades 75-100% of my quarter reports. Some of my counselors are just incredible...my history counselor is a Vietnam (and I think some other wars, but not sure how many...) veteran and he lost a leg. He knows a ridiculously ton of amount of history and has even written four history novels! :D My dad helped me with English and math the first few years of high school, So "instructors and mentors" would include my parents, counselors, and spiritual director.

For me, it's kind of a combination of all of them. But more than anything, I'd say my teachers have influenced my opinions the most. I used to think I was wicked liberal until I had a really conservative teacher, at which point I discovered that I'm actually quite the Libertarian. I think Libertarianism is the best of both worlds: social liberalism from the Democrats, and limited government from the Republicans. What more could you want?

Just to show my geekiness:
"You would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks?"
"We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek! You are superior in only one respect."
"What is that?"
"You are better at dying."

Imaginary points if you get the reference.

I influence my opinions mostly. I take information from a large variety of sources (friends, family, media, online news, blogs, etc.) and then use that information to build an opinion.

I put other because I think friends, peers, and instructors have the most influence. These are the people I talk to the most and I get a lot of information from them. Even if I disagree, it still comes into play when I form opinions.

I choose "No one in particular or other" because I think everyone I come in contact with helps to shape my opinions in some way. Consciously or unconsciously my opinion is influenced every time I hear someone else's opinion. This is not to say I'll jump on-board with anything someone else says, but when you tell me your opinion it gives me a reason to think about something I may not have an opinion on, reevaluate the opinions I do have, or be more confident in saying this is what I believe and I'm not the only one.
