Meat

Do you know where that steak you just ate came from? If so, job well done, you are few and far between. If everyone were as conscious as you there would be less risk of E-Coli outbreaks and mad cow burgers. We would all be safer, healthier and happier if we realized not only where our meat comes from, but the effect it has on our resources, as well.  Read More »

I'm A Meat Eater But Not Always Proud

My Response to the Vegans/Vegitarians

Tagged:  •    •    •

I've seen a few vegans/vegitarians (hereafter known simply as vegans, though still referring to both or whomever fits the description at the time) on here and elsewhere who have chosen to be so because they consider it cruel to eat meat. (Note: this doesn't apply to those who simply cannot consume meat, eggs, or milk.)

One thing I've noticed is that what is considered cruel varies from person to person. The ones that don't eat meat because most meat sources are slaughterhouses where animals are fed the leftovers from the other animals, I don't blame you and I respect that choice, though there are other sources. Not all meat comes from slaughterhouses, you just have to know where to look (and you don't always have to pay more, depending on where you live).  Read More »

Meat Is Murder

I am a vegetarian.

I first looked into vegetarianism after a lecter from an 8th grade teacher that I very much respected. She didn't say we should all not eat meat, but eat less of it. I agreed with her in that meat isn't necessary for our survival, but why should we eat it at all?

As humans we take and take from the earth, with hardly giving anything back. Taking animals for our enjoyment is part of this endless, greedy spiral of self-fullfillment. We don't need beef cattle farms, or even dairy farms for that matter. What we need are some nice fruits and veggies. Then throw in some nuts for protein. It's more energy efficient to go straight to the nutrient source.  Read More »
