In the past ten years, the sexual slave trade has been picking up dramatically in popularity. “Importing” women and children from other countries for the purpose of sex has grown to become the third largest money-maker for organized crime, with an estimated 14,500-17,500 slaves being shipped into the United States each year (Hodge, 2008).

Okay...so this is probably something I wouldn't normally talk about, and you might not think its progressive, but I find it debatable. Also, I'm really sorry if I get too personal, or if this is offensive...feel free to stop reading is all I can say.

I’m sure most people know of the double standard – girls shouldn’t have sex, but boys can (okay, my problem is this: who are they sleeping with if they’re straight and no girls should be having sex? Okay, I’m done with that). The girls are the sluts, and the guys can get away basically unscathed, unless there’s an STD involved, but that’s not the point of my entry.

Sex Text 3: Sex on TV: When Does It Become Too Much?

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

Would you and the other millions of viewers like you tune into the Sopranos every week if it wasn’t filled with boobs every time that Tony is in the strip club or is cheating on his wife? That is a good question, and one that should be asked but seldom is. When does “Sex on TV” go too far? How much sex is needed to make a drama or any show more interesting?

Sex Text 2: The Myth of the “Oral Sex Epidemic”

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

Bill Maher once said that abstinence-only sex-education was creating girls who would say no to sex but yes to any other type of pornographic behaviors. This was during the end of the 1990s, when there was a craze going on that believed that the youth of our country was obsessed with oral sex, and saw it as a way to get off without losing innocence.
