Bringing Global Unity & Understanding to the Front Lines

I went to the State Theatre yesterday, but was not there to watch a movie. Rather, I was there to watch short films, inspirational speakers, and a few others things from around the world. Pangea Day (visit the website at http://www.pangeaday.org for a recap) brought so many things to my attention. The main theme was cultural universals - things present in all cultures.

Many people here on ProgressiveU will agree with me when I say that creating a better future for everyone and solving many of the conflicts in the world today starts with a little thing called tolerance. And I'm not talking about just putting up with people who are different.

War and hatred and apathy and cynical nonchalance are the spawn of closed eyes.
I am convinced of this.

If we, as the human race, could see the world stained in a different shade--through the eyes of different cultures and communities than our own--I sincerely believe that we would be more hesitant to point the finger or drop a bomb.
