As our life expectancies grow longer, the American population of senior citizens also grows. Today, there are more than 36 million Americans over the age of 65. This is 12% of the population. At the Nursing Home

Today my mom and I went to visit my grandmother in her nursing home. It is always a sad experience. Although she recongnized us, it was next to impossible to have a conversation with her. The first thing she said when she saw me was that I was growing up. She then grabbed my hand and held it, smiling at me. I don't know why, but this upset me so much. Read More »
