I am a college student. I can admit to myself that I am not the best one. But I also tend to underestimate my knowledge at times but I digress. The point is that I am not the best student in the world. I like to say that I lack the drive due to the educational system not challenging me enough when I was younger. And even that may be true. But as it stands right now, right in this moment in time. Read More »

Help for the Teenage Slacker

Why do you have to be 21 to drink but can serve the country at 18?
Why do you have to be 21 to drink? We are considered adults at 18. We can serve our country at 18. We can smoke at 18. We can buy a house or car when we are 18. And we can have kids when we want. "Disruption"... Oh yeah, you know you love it.
It’s Friday. Thank goodness. And, needless to say, I am once again, bored.

At some point I gave up and just accepted who they are. However, questions about them have gone unanswered. That is, until now. Read More »

Kids growing up too fast?
I was at the mall with my friends last week when we saw these young girls that looked like a miniature version of us. They couldn't have been older than twelve but they had the purses, the shopping bags with purchased items, the tight Abercrombie jeans tucked into Ugg boots, and oversized sunglasses. Read More »

Promoting Self-Esteem Encouraging Delinquency?
I have been thinking about this subject quite a bit in the past couple of days. We have become a society where the value of building good self-esteem is stressed. Particularly in schools. Teachers are constantly attending seminars and studying more about how to raise their students' self esteem. Is this honestly what is best for the kids? Read More »
