Being the one whom goes to the ghetto school, I often am immersed in situations that aren’t the safest. There are often race riots, and guns at school, that I can easily deal with. Last year there was an attack at Virginia Tech. We all know this and most of us attending a college felt a little scared and shaken from the incident. My University’s solution was to have a text message service where whenever there was some sort of problem on campus they would send out a text message to everyone who attended school to be on the look out. After the Columbine shooting in 1999 in which 13 people were killed and 24 injured it seems amazing how many troubled people have embarked on a mission to do the same.
