In Ray Bradbury's famous novel, Fahrenheit 451, the citizens of a futuristic society are not allowed to speak their minds. In fact, they have a much worse problem: there is nothing on their minds to speak about. They don't even read books, because they are afraid of addressing new subjects and expanding their intellects. The most disturbing aspect of Bradbury's fictional totalitarian society is that the people, not the government, initially introduced the oppression of free thought. I am going to be a little nit picky. I have my own complaints. I am sick and tired of people in some subjects attacking each other.
