Women in American society have really retrograded from the time of Susan B. Anthony to now, with current role models like Fergie and Paris Hilton.

Why are we willingly characterizing ourselves as vacuous pieces of meat to exist for men's pleasure? Why don't we object to nameless women in bikinis clobbering all over rappers in music videos? Why do we willingly show our bodies for money, or more commonly, for plastic beads? Strong women struggled their whole lifetimes to escape such characterization, and we are willingly herding ourselves back into the pen male-dominated society finds convenient for us?  Read More »

I own exactly 8 pair of white cotton briefs. And that’s it. I haven’t owned a bra in probably 8 years. My favorite article of clothing is something my pal Stella refers to as “flexipants.” I can fit my entire wardrobe, for all seasons and functions into two-thirds of my closet and 2 drawers. I own 9 pairs of shoes, 6 of which have not seen the light of day in a year. It is true; I am no slave to fashion.
