For almost the better part of my life, America has been involved in some sort of conflict. Whether it is the end of the Cold War, the initial invasion of Iraq, the War on Terror, or now the "New" Iraqi War, America and our western Allies can't seem to "stop the bleeding".

The President is the most powerful person the in entire world. But in a democratic state, what purpose does the President serve? Is he or she supposed to be the servant to the people, following their every will, or the Master of the Nation, a leader who commands public policy?

I've been hearing too much from my peers about the upcoming presidential election lately.

The most effective government will be one that changes with the needs of the people: not the static types that we consistently encounter throughout history. It should be a government that does not exist for the power of individuals but for the protection and welfare of its people. My proposal is that an ideal government should change stature as needed because no one government is perfect.

In the modern United States, a debate about the use of torture of terror suspects is raging. For the war on terror is as much a war about information as it is about bullets and bombs, and at times the military and the government will go into murky waters in an attempt to attain the information they need. Some anti-torture advocates claim that in the use of torture, the U.S.
