Atheism... pure weakness

I'm so sick of all the people who casually rattle off "Oh I don't have a religion, I don't believe in God, I'm an atheist." As if to have any faith in a higher power is nothing but pure foolishness and ignorance.

Evaluating Christianity: The Argument From the Bible

In my last blog I posed the question, "Exactly what is the bible?". Is it a message from God to us, or is the message solely from fallible humans? As was shown by the statements from the official creeds of mainstream Christian denominations, most Christians believe it to contain the inerrant word of God. In fact one of the arguments for God's existence (and an underlying assumption for many of the other arguments for God's existence) is the ARGUMENT FROM THE BIBLE. The logic of the argument is simple:

Evaluating Christianity

Vocal atheists often get accused of being "blissfully ignorant" of sophisticated arguments for God's existence . These arguments, we are told, put religious belief on a sound rational footing. However, we are never told exactly what these sophisticated arguments are.

There has been a spate of books come out recently by atheists criticizing the belief in God. These books portray the belief in God as being inherently irrational. This a rather strong statement, especially considering that 85%+ of the people in this country profess a belief in God.

Religion .... Even the Moderates can be Wackaloons

I am no fan of religion. I wish there were an outbreak of rationality and it would die. Die not because anybody restricted anybody's right to practice it. But die, because of the realization that it is not needed.

Even if there weren't so many terribly misbehaving children who haven't been taught to shut up for one hour, I wouldn't have been able to hear the preacher's low-volume microphone anyway. He was talking, I could tell that much. But what he was saying was anyone's guess. If there had been a clock on the wall, I could have heard it ticking better than anything that was supposed to be relevant.

I'm perfectly happy not believing, thanks.

As I’ve said countless time, I’m a little heathen who sees no problem with “allowing” those who believe in a higher (is Satan considered a higher or lower power?

Religious Concert at a Public School

This Wednesday night, I found myself videotaping my high school's Spring Choir Concert for our local educational access channel. We have a great choir; the kids have performed at Carnegie Hall many times, gone on tour overseas, and go to California every two years to perform.
