If asked to be sent back to fight in Iraq for another tour, would be willing to pay someone to shoot you in the knees just so you wouldn’t have to go? How about swallow a pen at the bus stop for the bus that you will be taking to base camp? Although you may not do something this extreme, this a real problem that more soldiers now than ever in history are having to deal with.

I just read an article that said a bill was signed by the House, and going on to the Senate for debate, that will pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and… unemployment?

Breaking News-Prison Break in Afghanistan

This will have large implications for the Bush Administration and the John McCain Campaign. Bush earlier in the day just had given a speech in France saying that Afghanistan needed more attention. Ironically it was called one of the most important speeches ever given by George W Bush.

Osama bin Laden gathers troops for his jihad (holy war) by saying that the Qu'ran and Allah say that it is honorable if the jihadists die in a suicide bomb so long as America is taken down and Islam is helped, but recently, this view has been under attack from inside the Islamic world.

On July 23, 2007, 1st Sgt. Michael S. Curry Jr., Pfc. Adam J. Davis, Sgt. Travon T. Johnson, Pfc. Jessy S. Rogers were killed when a makeshift bomb exploded near their vehicle.

This weekend I picked up the LA Times and in the upper right column, the article was about Afghanistan and the rising activity of insurgents because of the warming weather. (They are coming out of their winter bases in Pakistan, and coming back to Afghanistan.)

The last few minutes of GMA are always so moving. Their Three Words campaign is something that has gotten viewers involved in the business of media broadcasting and get a few seconds, and three words to show each other, the praises, the struggles, the little things in life that make it worth while.

I don't know how much you know about the US's involvement in Afghanistan. Less than an hour ago I would have told you I had no knowledge of it whatsoever or interest in hearing about it. Like many other teenagers the current conflict began while I was too young to really care or read the news.
