So this teacher in Florida comes under heat because she was a model during her college years and a website has pictures of her modeling. Nothing nude. Nothing revealing. All clothed. She's on the National Bikini Team (apparently we had this: why wasn't I notified).
But, the sad thing is that she's coming under fire from the administrators. Read More »

Can I go to the bathroom, Ms. Double D?
Are you a Real Mature Single?
I get this spam mail from Real Mature Singles.
Yeah. It's pretty gross. I just spam delete those emails when they come but the title got me thinking. Did they mean Real, Mature Singlese. Or REAL MATURE like We're very wise/old people.
At any rate, it's nasty. Pornography is proliferating through all facets of life. Read More »
Hey, fatty!
I had some trouble deciding on the title of this post. It came down to Hey Fatty vs. Hey Fatty: The American Story. I decided to drop the subtitle after resolving that the post implied Americans. We are some fatty, McFat-fats. Have you seen the numbers? Have you seen the pictures? The people? In the last 30 years we've gone up like 8 sizes? If that happened to your girlfriend you would probably get slapped the next time you bought her chocolates for Valentines Day.
Blame it all on Fast Food right? That damn McDonalds. Read More »
Celebrities are better than normal people
Um, maybe they aren't, but that doesn't matter. That's what we all think other people think about celebrities right? Who's better than Michael Jordan? Who's better than Matt Damon? Or Angelina Jolie? Or Oprah? Um, not me. Not Bob Bafferty. Not Jane Schweederman. We all perceive these individuals as so great that they transcend societal norms. They don't drive cars, they drive Lambos. Read More »
Hey, there's the homeless guy!
Homeless people are people too. Actually, that was a pretty bad opening. It's like dogs are humans too or murderers have rights too so we can't kill them. Pretty BS, yeah.
But the fact of the matter is the way our society regards homeless individuals is deplorable. Let me iterate that by society I mean the predominate perception and related actions. Read More »
They saved the Immigration Bill! Yay!
Before Memorial Day, Senators hope to finalize a deal allowing MILLIONS of undocumented, illegal immigrants to earn full citizenship status [In other words, in less than one month, millions of migrant workers will become citizens when it took my family over 12 years.]
Republicans feel that the current progress leads to the idea:
"Republicans, too, have had opposition from conservatives to the compromise proposal. These critics consider its path to citizenship provision for illegal immigrants and hundreds of thousands of future guest workers to be tantamount to "amnesty." Read More »
Money, money, money
Money makes the world go round! Money, money, money! Yes, it's all true. We are all about money and we need money. We all crave money. Whether it is to purchase necessities, superfluities or to use as a status symbol, money defines individuals...at least in a capitalist structured framework.
Don't we live in a capitalist framework? Shouldn't we then be allowed and even praised for thriving within that framework, for desiring and earning money? The sad truth is quite the opposite. Those who earn money (in large amounts) are villified. Those who don't or can't are pitied. In most cases the only limiting factor in a person's success is their own ignorance or apathy. Accordingly, no pity should be accorded. Only praise and adulation should be reserved for those who succeed. While those who stumble en route to success should be accomodated and supported, this only re-enforces the concept that good things come to those who TRY. Read More »
No more Coke?
Only in public schools though. Yep, that's right. Not only Coca-Cola, but also Cadbury Schweppes and Pepsi have decided to completely phase out sodas (albeit diet drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks and milk) by 2009.
While I feel this is a tremendous step, it comes FAR too late in the game. These companies have had such a large window of operating time to act in such a manner. Read More »
