Out of curiosity, I took an online screening for several psychological disorders through my school's counseling page. My test results suggested I likely suffered from anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and an eating disorder and that I should seek professional help/ assessment immediately.
Today I found myself in an awkward situation as I witnessed the effects of the recession on a dear friend of mine.
Okay...so this is probably something I wouldn't normally talk about, and you might not think its progressive, but I find it debatable. Also, I'm really sorry if I get too personal, or if this is offensive...feel free to stop reading is all I can say.
It is so weird how money can make people go mad. Financial insecurity has been the number one cause of my stress, and I think many people are in the same boat. Everywhere I go I am hearing about everyone's concern for the economy and what a sting this recession is giving them. People spread the anxiety like a virus.
I decided to come out to Paonia for a week to spend some time with my dad, and it's so refreshing. It's about time I had a chance to get away...and if there's any place to get away its here. Most of this place is farmland, but like the really pretty kind. There are miles and miles of green wherever you look. Yet, where I am staying isn't much more than a mile from town.
I am aware that I should have started this earlier, but I sitll need to pay for at least $5,000 (I have more than that to pay for, but this is just to get me by) toward this year's tuition. I got so caught up in applications and schoolwork my senior year that I only had the time to apply for a few. Now I'm behind and applying seems so hopeless because the competition is so high.

I'm going to be 18 in July and this year is going to be my first year voting. I am an Obama supporter...I guess because I like the feeling I get watching him. It's like this is the first time I have ever felt a real connection with America, the first time I have felt I belong here and have the responsibility to be the change I want to see in the world.
