In this blog I do not intend to prove to an atheist that there is a God, nor do I wish to show why any certain God is better than any other. The scope here is limited to attaining a definition that qualifies the most common and inclusive of all faiths definitions of that word. A definition that is inclusive, not divisive.
Is the world in which we live exactly as it really is independent of our understanding, or observational perspective? If it is exactly as it is, is the way it is right?
I think that reality is perfect. Not from a humanist perspective, but from an objective one.
I just watched an interview on Charlie Rose with a very insightful author. Naomi Klein.
Charlie Rose is generally a very good interviewer, but in this case he seemed to interrupt and misconstrue her. Ms. Klein was far more clear thinking, and the interview left me wanting to hear more from her.
I have not read anything by her, but that will soon change.
Former world chess champion Garry Kasperov was arrested, tried, and sentenced to five days in jail earlier this week. His crime was demonstrating against the Putin government in Moscow. He has been freed, and written this article about the experience and the cause he is fighting for:

We live in the best time there has ever been to be alive.
We have access the greatest learning and communication tool the world has ever known, and almost all of us remember when no one had it. The youngest of us are not unlikely to see the day when EVERY person on the planet has access to all of humanity’s learning.

The cold hard truth gets less credit than it deserves.
People like the portions of reality that help them, and make them feel more important, smarter, or please their preconceptions. That is not wrong, but the less fortuitous pieces of reality need love too. Altering the result is best done by embracing all the facts.
If you have not yet started to cheat, you are not trying your hardest. Honesty and following the rules are very nice ideals, but depending upon what you are trying to accomplish they could also be immoral.
