We’re down to the homestretch now… 4 more days to Election Day!

Today we’re focusing on younger voters. According to a new poll, the 2006 election may see the highest turn-out of young people in a mid-term election.

In a Harvard poll published on Wednesday, 32 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds said they will “definitely” vote on Nov. 7. That would be the highest youth turnout for a midterm election since the national voting age was lowered from 21 to 18 in 1971.  Read More »

Only 5 more days till Election Day 2006!

Today we're focusing our attention on nothing other than the political ads and the costs of this campagining season.

An article on USAToday.com said that campaign spending is up 15% since 2004.

The non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics predicts that, by the end of the year, candidates, parties and outside groups will have raised $2.6 billion for the Nov. 7 elections, 18% more than in 2002.  Read More »

America's Most Dangerous Cities

St. Louis has a reason to be celebrating for the wrong reasons. A report released today by the Morgan Qunito Press said that the city is the most dangerous city in America.

Violent crime surged nearly 20 percent there this year, when the rate of such crimes rose much faster in the Midwest than in the rest of nation, according to FBI figures released in June.

The study looks at crime only within St. Louis city limits, with a population of about 330,000. It doesn’t take into account the suburbs in St. Louis County, which has roughly 980,000 residents.  Read More »

Welp.. tomorrow is once again Monday and I'm really not looking forward to another week of tests, homework, and the usual high school bullshit. I would play a Ferris Bueller, but according to this USA Today article, that's getting harder to do these days...
