I love contact juggling. If you have ever seen the movie Labyrinth, David Bowie does some magic with crystal balls. It's beautiful and mystical. I understand it wasn't really Bowie, but the mystique is still there. Every time I get a new trick down, I jump up and down really excited. Often enough, I can't do the same trick twice in a row. The best moves are always accidental, it seems. Imagine flipping a ball over the front and back of your hand, seemingly defying gravity. That's me. I can do that. I can also take it and roll it over my arms and chest just like the Harlem Globetrotters. My way is more difficult, though. A crystal ball is a lot smaller and harder to control than a basketball.
When I'm doing my tricks in public, I always get stares. I don't mind. They are caught up in the magic and often enough, people walk up to me to ask me questions about it. They often ask if it's meditation. That is close enough. I focus my mind and forget my troubles when I'm making a crystal float in the air. That sphere is my world. The oohs and ahhs are just a bonus.
