Michael Jackson's Memorial

I live just outside of Los Angeles, and yes, today is bedlam! Michael Jackson’s memorial began at 10AM and everyone appears to have gone insane. As everyone in the entire world knows, a musical legend has just died and today is the day they are celebrating his life.
Honestly, I do not see what all the hullabaloo is about, so I must be in the minority because more than 1.6 million people registered for tickets to Jackson’s memorial. Yes, he was a music icon, yes, he could dance like nobody else, and yes, he invented the moonwalk-but I do not see this as any reason to skip over all the bad things he did in his life.
Everybody makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. We all know that, but in my opinion, Michael Jackson took it to the next level. Sure we can blame it on the fact that he was abused as a child and had to deal with a lot growing up, but that is no excuse for him to dangle his kid off a balcony. (That is just one of many.)
This man is dead and I give my grievances to the family, but I just do not understand the idolization that millions of people see in him. He was an incredible musician, but I do not respect him for the choices he made in life. It is sad and unfortunate but, I guess people really do look at talent rather than what is on the inside of a person when it comes to idolization and adoration.
