I created this blog because of misinformation. I was under the impression that there was a scholarship offered on this website based on the number of reads and comments received on the blog. I even had an entry about the scholarship, asking people to help me out. I am so happy, I made that mistake. I have been looking for a creative outlet and I think this could be it. It's weird. I was always a person who made fun of blogs because I always thought it was just a bunch of people venting and talking about their lives or uninformed rants about current events. The truth is, I can make it whatever I want to make it. I intend to continue this blog simply because I love to write and I want it to be a source of information and thought provoking conversation. Granted, there might be a rant or two mixed in there. After all, one of my motivations for this is therapeutic self expression. However, I will do my best to write interesting, relevant and, most importantly, informed entries. I welcome comments, suggestions, criticism. Tell me if I may have been misinformed or if there is new information to consider.
To begin, please sent me topic ideas to write about so I can start this thing off right.

because i want everyone to be informed that there is no scholarship contest at this time, regretfully, because ProU doesn't have the funds, and it is a non-profit organization, and is only still running because of the hard work of several volunteers. The reason they volunteer is not for any personal gain, it is because they, and I have been through a process on this site, one that entails serious delving into current events and issues, and have found themselves enlightened or uplifted, challenged and insulted, and yet, have found a community where their voices can be heard, and they keep at it, regardless of any monetary value. so I applaud this blogger for still giving us a chance, even though there is no monetary award to be gained. free exchange of ideas is what ProU is about, and it is priceless.

I can't even begin to tell you how touched I am. I have been telling everyone I know about this site because I have been so impressed by it. Everything I have read so far has shattered the blogging stereotype as I have seen it. This seems to be an intelligent community and I am privileged to be a part of it.

This site has been a learning and teaching experience. I hope that we will soon be able to get the scholarship up again because it brings in more people which translates into more ideas and perspective...even if that includes the crazy stereotypical blogger. So many life long friend I have made here.
