So I always try to stay open minded about religion and think that everyone has a right to their own beliefs. I was personally raised as a Methodist but I just don't feel that strongly about religion. I think of it as a good story book with some history behind it.
There are just way too many things to question and it doesn't make sense to believe what you are being told to believe. What happened to having a mind of your own and believing that you can bring happiness to yourself, not that some holy spirit gave it to you. Why is it necessary to give credit to a god for what you have achieved? I like to believe that, I am in control of what happens in my life and I am not destined to be a crack whore or a Nun because I have no desire to do either. I believe that I am in fact in control and my happiness comes from my hard work and dedication.
Also, if we are supposed to be so loving to one another and not judge then why are religious leaders so quick to judge and damn homosexuality. My best friend is gay and I have to say that she is the greatest person that I have ever meet. Why are people so worried about what everyone else is doing. I know that I could never understand how she feels about someone else and whats wrong with being able to love someone regardless of their gender.
