OK, I don't generally post random diary-type blog posts (one because I doubt there are too many people who would really care that my day was boring and full of school and two because we're not really supposed to...), but my Valentine's Day totally took the cake (no pun intended!) for an incredible day!
So I got up...it was a typical Saturday. I checked my email and tried to drone out my parents who were discussing how we needed to clean the house and how the kids don't listen and how everyone is so lazy, etc. I finally got off the computer and helped clean up around the house. I had bathroom duty. Since we didn't have power and since the bathroom had no lights, this involved finding a light and an extension cord that weren't being used so that I could clean in the light. Funness. My day was totally not fun.
In my spare time, I was working on my LAST assignment for first quarter (yes, I'm behind and YES, I'm going to be done so that I can graduate in May), which was a essay religion test on why the New Testament is a historically reliable document and why God exists. That was fun, so that made my day a little bit better.
Oh, and I got engaged (not really). On my message board, we were talking about SAT scores (bleh, I hate that test...) and I mentioned mine. A guy friend of mine was like "OMGosh, Sara, you're dumber than I thought, and that's saying a lot!" (turd...my score is a 2040, BTW) So I said that he was really madly in love with me and that he tries to overcome his passion by attempting insults at me. It's all superficial! So he said, "Well, now that it's out in the open for the public to see...Sara, will you marry me?" I asked him if he would buy me a car, and he said yes, so I said yes. LOL But anyway, I don't get engaged (fake or real) every day, so that was funny.
Then my day got 300% better! THE POWER GUYS CAME!!! After being out of power for 18 days, they were HERE! I was squealing and jumping up and down! The Pepsi and chocolate I had eaten earlier didn't help calm me down any.
So we got ready and went to Mass and then when we got home, WE HAD ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING!!! I was so happy. :) I celebrated by turning my light switch on and off until I got bored. I got bored quickly. :P So yeah, I was very happy.
Oh, and after dinner, we heard this noise (it seriously sounded like a bobcat or something), so Dad went outside with his gun (we thought it was like a raccoon attacking the chickens or something of the like) only to discover that it was my sister's cat who was drowning in the pool and shrieking in terror. So Dad ran to the barn and got the snow shovel and scooped the cat out of the filthy pool (that is not clean and that we have not used in the year we've been here). There were many comical things about this: (1) Dad running. :P (2) The cat looked like O'Malley from Aristocats after he was drenched...besides the fact that the creature almost died, it was beyond hilarious :P (3) My mom's indignation towards the POOL for being there. It was very amusing. Not that my sister thought so...
Then I talked to a friend of mine for two hours about all kinds of deep stuff and that was awesome!!! Then I took a hot shower in MY shower, so I didn't have to feel bad about running up someone ELSE'S water bill. That was even more awesome. I love hot water!
And finally, Valentine's Day was a year since I left Connecticut...craziness!
And that was my awesome Valentine's Day!
