We're ALL stupid.
All of us. Myself Included.
We live our lives based on unprovable assumptions.
We believe in our religion because it is all we were taught and there are made-up punishments for not believing in it.
We wear this clothing because the people selling it have great advertisements about it... we NEED to fit in.
We live our lives base off of MONEY, which is completely MADE UP. We have rich and poor people who all judge themselves and others because of this made up resource of MONEY.
We are all so primitive
We are all so simple.
We are all so predictable.
We are living lives without true meaning, direction, or purpose.
For how long can we convince ourselves so that we are better than other animals? Because that is all we are: animals.
How long can we continue pretending that landing such and such a job is going to somehow give us a purpose?
We have created our own false world to live in. We lie to ourselves everyday. Most of us know better, but we would rather continue the lie.
What's the point?
And if you say Jesus or religion, then you are more lost than most that I have described. Just because you are taught to believe something since age 1, doesn't mean that it's anywhere close to being true.
Re-Examine your lives people!!!
And maybe we can start trying to find something worth-while.
Something true.
Something worth living for.
Humans have consciousness, language and culture, and it's natural that we would think this is the primordial evolutionary traits, but other plants and animals have evolved biochemistry.

I don't know how to explain it but I definitely didn't want to live because most of the things you mentioned seem useless to worry about, and to follow...Once I realized this I did not worry much over a degree and having letters that were abbreviations after my name, I am not doing anything for someone else or for things.
I want to do things for myself and make change that I want to see...isn't there the saying that be the change you want to see in the world?
I don't know if I am way off mark from the point you were trying to make but don't give up so easily because you giving up easily is also giving in to the system, or maybe it is the other way?
ps I know I am stupid but not all the time...but most of the time I am or do stupid things but it is almost more about things I say than actually money spent or things done.

I think it is stupid to reject the very real world that is around you.
Money is not real? As long as people believe it is real then it is real enough for me. I find that having enough of it makes my life a great deal more comfortable.
My jobs not important? They have pretty much matched my passions. Each of the businesses that I have started and grown has been a labor of love. I don't need you to tell me that they are meaningless, stupid or unreal. Thankyou very much.
My life is packed with meaning. Among other things, it is very much about ensuring the well-being and happiness of my family. Beyond the pursuit of meaning, my life it is also packed with recreation and fun.
It is stupid to be overly concerned about the meaning of life and not just live it and enjoy it for what it is.

I agree with what you said about money, as long as people believe it is real, then that is what really matters. We can't prove that the life we are living is real, heck, I can't prove anyone on this site is real, or just who they say they are. But does that really make a difference? Just because my grades may not be real, I still have to maintain them.

Instead of dwelling on the vast worthless vanity that surrounds you in the world, and accounts for most human motivation. Find a goal, or task that IS WORTHWHILE and apply your efforts to it. Turn the tiny portion of your brain that is smart enough to see all of the foolishness toward finding a mission that you can believe in.
The ability to do all that you can has been given to you for free. It is a gift beyond price, but if you don't use it it is worthless.

Today in the news I see that Israel has really stepped its military effort up against Hamas and the like... but what's the point? What are we trying to prove? What are they trying to do?
Aren't we all human? Why can't we see past our made-up religions and made-up holy lands, and made-up fashions, made-up jobs, made-up money, made-up lives, and just realize we are all humans, we are all animals.
Why can't we just live and not hurt?
Honestly... I think many of us are too ignorant and narrow-minded to ever realize how ignorant and narrow-minded we are.
Happiness will never be ours until we stop being slaves to our own ignorance, willful or otherwise.

Your observation, while valid, is not exactly new. What you gain from that insight is the important thing. If your conclusion is a nihilistic 'nothing matters and what if it did' you are no more correct than the person that strives for one or many of the meaningless pursuits that you have used as examples. Solomon, from the link, made the same case you make and drew a conclusion that has had a few adherents over the years. You may not agree with his conclusion, but allowing this meaninglessness of human activities to remove any of the passion and enthusiasm you have for the things that matter to you would be a tragedy IMHO.

Did you read enough of the news to see that the people Israel is attacking had launched over 300 mortars and rockets across the border in 8 days before the current offensive? What would you have done?

Animals really, it is our most base and foundation of our nature, yes our brain's have advanced so much so that even though they are small in comparison to other animal's they hold a lot, we still are animals who can not shut down our beast factor or manliness, or the need to feel that we are the biggest, the best, the one in POWER.
You don't even have to mention mortars. words kill, silence kills, then the loudness and million voices could also kill you if you really did not know how to turn them off or turn the volume low...that is what happens with me, it gets easier each time

we can....I just didn't want to then, at that moment
the more we talk we might realize that we are both still lost souls....In search of the truth.
