Business major

To most young students entering their freshman year of college, the idea of choosing a major may seem extremely overwhelming and nerve racking. Most students think that by choosing a major, there are limited career opportunities after graduation. As far as some majors are concerned, this is true. A nursing degree will only allow you to be a nurse. But, this is not how is has to be. What most students do not realize is that by majoring in business, there is an infinite number of career options available. Business management also plays an important role in everyday life as well.

A business degree enables people to work in many different career fields. All organizations and corporations have business in some way, shape, or form, intertwined with it. Any person with a degree in business can work in fields such as, financial planning, staffing, marketing, manufacturing, sales, and so on. These diverse career options are available to anyone with a business degree. Jobs such as these are not exclusive to large moneymaking corporations, but are needed for any type of organization.

Non-profit organizations such as helping the poor, saving the whales, and bringing world peace need educated people with business backgrounds. My family and I put on a haunted house every year to raise money for cancer research. In order to reach maximum profits for donation, it is essential to run the haunted house like a business.

All aspects of business are needed to make the haunted house a success. For example, financial planning is needed when making the budget for props, sets, and decorations. In order to coordinate set builders, actors, and crew for production, a staffing team is necessary. A person with a business background also needs to take care of the actual building of the haunted house, including its set, props, and decorations. We also must market our production to get the word out and increase donations. All aspects of our haunted house and life involve some sort of business management.

A business major is the best possible major that is offered to students. An education in business allows students to be able to get a career in many desired fields, doing a wide range of jobs from manufacturing to marketing and service. In addition to a business degree being great for choosing a career, it enables people to live a successful life. A business education is the best way to explore career options and learn about life.
