16 Random Things (from my fb)

This might be killing two birds with one stone, don't know because I am not the best when it comes to english sayings.

I am writing this for me and for those who are interested, also because I took a nap at the most randomest time to take one and now I am wide awake.

1. I talk a lot, and passionately, especially if I know you. Sometimes people are put off by this chatterbox, but I don't mind because those that mind my talking don't matter to me.

2. I don't know how to wear make-up. The best I can do is mascara, eye liner, and some vaseline for chapped lips. Don't do my hair either, unless someone else does it.

3. I am also not into shopping. I value quality over quantity and I try not to wear half-sleeve tees, high heels, and bling bling. I rarely wear flip flops outside the house.

4. I have a complex about my nose. Kids can be mean. I was also called asthma throughout middle and high school, most people who know me now try to call me ASMA.

5. I love reading but I sometimes do very little of it. A book some people might not know I liked is Lolita. I have been meaning to read, Reading Lolita in Tehran, but lazy.

6. I write random stuff in English, but I have no confidence in my writing.

7. I learned to read, write and speak Urdu first. English is my second language.

8. I have very rarely hung out with guys who are not part of my family, so if I seem weird or awkward to the ones outside my family, I have no clue.

9. I have phases of living life to the fullest and being quite depressed and hibernating, if I need professional help, let me know, but be kind.

10. "Mama forgive me, should be thinkin' bout Harvard, But that's too far away...Ain't nothin' wrong with aim, just gotta change the target," you know the song, I hope for your sake you do. It's not my story I would change the Harvard to Penn.

11. I love Talib Kweli, Mos def...Dj Khaled, Kanye, Jay Z, Common, John Legend, MIA, and The Killers, and Linkin Park, but I never got into Lil Wayne, Soulja boy, Britney Spears, or Nsync. ( I was a BSB fan and I still love Boyz II Men)

12. I should mention food, I love my mom's cooking although I never tell her this. I also love Wendy's baked potato and BK's hershey pie, and I think I could not live without Pepsi.

13. I am into politics, please do not get me started if you don't want your ears to bleed.

14. I am a Muslim that does not drink, eat pork, and I don't go to clubs. I need to pray regularly but I believe in the Qur'an, the Shahadda, and you can not break my Imaan.

15. I love Pakistan. People ask me which do you love more, Pakistan or America? That to me is asking who do you love more, your mother or your father.

16. I love my high school friends. I love a few of my middle school friends even more(hope they know this), and the ones I met in 5th grade and still know, I have known you the longest and will remember you the rest of my life.

The last thing which I should have put at the top is that I am corny, cheesy, senti-mental and other variations of these words.

Note: If anyone is interested in the w family nose, click here, it's your task to guess which one is me... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=36486814&l=5cc5b&id=624607

Cute! I loved #2 and 3 : P I never wear make up and I just recently learned to curl my hair (I'm 16) and that was only because a friend told me I had to have my hair curled for a party we were going to, but she was busy curling her sister's hair, so I fiddled with the curler trying to do it...I was about half way done and she says "No, not like that!" Uuugh...So then I did it her way. : P So now I know! But normally I just pull my hair back or braid it. It's easier that way. : P

I still don't know how to curl my hair and I am not interested because I don't have time like that or rather, I don't want to spend my time on curling my hair...

The last time I remember my hair being curled is my cousin's wedding in June this year and one of my other cousin's did it for me, I get others to do it if it is necessary.

I love having short hair with tons of chunky layers because it pretty much styles itself. Sometimes I go crazy and put some mousse in it.

As for make-up, I don't even try any more. Every time I do, I look like a 5-year-old who got into mommy's make-up kit. ;-)

My dad is not a fan of short hair plus it is SO cold in philly right now that the last time I went to get a hair cut, all I thought of was that I need my hair to cover my neck. I also found tihs sunsilk thing that helps with keeping hair non-frizzy but I don't like putting product in my hair :(, I do it though because my other option is having a head of frizz.

on the makeup...I never put on any eye shadow or blush by myself...that is not something I would mess with. I don't know how people become such experts at it, I guess practice makes them better. I have cousins who can do their makeup in a moving car (of course, they aren't the driver :)

I love how much we have in common, and at the same time don't. I hate doing my hair and I only wear make-up when i have to. It clogs my pores and makes me break out.

I bet you have a beautiful nose. I have met many a middle eastern woman who is dying for or has had a nose job, and it pains me. I love the roman nose. I think it is really beautiful. I have a thin little bird nose and I always wish it had more character.

My nose is in its current shape because I actually fell from a sofa when I was jumping on it around the age of three or four, but let me tell you, my parents don't care, especially my dad since he told me that when I was born he thought I was not his kid because my features were so eastern asian and not south asian.

and now I definitely have his features, everytime I meet someone who knows my dad, they tell me I am his ditto copy. lol
