I know I'm fairly behind in putting up my feelings about the election, but I wanted to wait awhile so I could have a more coherent blog than me smashing my fists on my keyboard in elation... but that's not to say I will go this entire post without it XD.
Anyways, I'm very glad that Obama won and even more glad (if that's grammatically accurate) at how graciously McCain conceded the race. I was up until the wee hours of the night with my brother and my dad watching this historic event come to a close, only for it to open up again in two months. I must admit that the South Park parody of the election was not far off, at least by what I saw. There were a myriad of reactions, the main ones being 'pissed', 'elated', and apathetic... as most reactions tend to fall into. In the case of this election, no matter how different the candidates are, people will react the same, according to how they vote. I suppose that's the one thing predictable in humans. I had to stay away from Facebook, because I value my friendships and I didn't feel like burning bridges with my joyous sarcasm. Instead, I just put up a happy status message and went about my business. Went and looked at ponies or something.
This is more or less a blog just to get me back into writing here. My brain's a lil' sore from getting into the groove of college, so I imagine my posts are going to be sporadic and a little scatter-brained, but here they are.
I'm doing a lot of post-election thinking, which is when I think best and less sarcastically. I've thought about the reactions of the voters, the concerns of the public, those propostions passed or not, and I've come to some conclusions.
But this, this is just to get back into the groove.

In '04, my brother called me with the results. "HAHAHA! Bush won again!" I didn't even call him this time around to rub it in his face. I still haven't, but if I'm around there for Thanksgiving....
Most of my friend were Obama supporters, once I got done with them. :)
I had some people over election night. We did have our token conservative, but the rest of us were strong Obama supporters. It was great for few laughs. A few left at 11, then 12, then one, but I stayed up watching until I saw Indiana turn BLUE. I was so proud.
I was also very impressed with the sincerity of McCain's speech, but not happy with the response from the crowd. I really hope that people can get over it. It'll take all of us working together to fix things.
I hope you did catch that episode of South Park. It always makes me laugh, but that was even funnier than usual, if you can take it for what it's meant for- few laughs.
