What we learn

We learn in school about evey us citizen having constitutional rights. We are taught about the people who fought tp gain equal rights for everyone. We also see that the Constitution was created and designed with the ability to change with time. It amazes me that so long ago the leaders at the time were able to write such an amazing peiece that has withstood multiple wars. Some that where with one country or more and then some in our home country. And it is required in every room at school that we have a copy of the constitution yet somehow from the time we step on campus to the time we set foot in our own home we have no constituional rights. We do not have the right to protest on campus nor during school hours. If we do it has to be across the street after school.
We are taught the laws of our country but we are not able to put them into practice. Are we not American citizens as well? Isn't school designed to prepare us for the future? Then wouldn't it make sense that we practice our rights on school campus where it can safely be conducted. I think the schools should promote our freedom of speech and freedom of protest. We should be allowed to use them in a safe enviornment where we have adult supervision to help and guide us. Maybe it would promote more participation in our government. We don't really learn much about the government until senior year. How are we supposed to learn everything in just nine months?
