I'd like to use this blog entry to thank all the war veterans everywhere, and not just in America. War soldiers fight for our safety all the time. Whether we agree with the wars they are waging or not, it is definitely worthy of something to put your life on the line for a cause that you believe in. No matter what you believe in, if you've risked your life for it on the battle front, today we honor you.
Today, we have a new generation of veterans. Soon, very soon, the war heroes from Iraq, Afghanistan, The Philippines, The Horn of Africa, and The Trans Sahara will come home. They have been through so much for their cause, whether we concur with said cause or not. We, as the new generation, should be working to make things better at home, especially for them. We all need to do our part. And yet, as I sit here in my house eating my breakfast, I wonder how many people out there truly care. It seems that this young generation (which I am, admittedly, a part of) is apathetic towards anything important to the world at large.
Though I don't believe anyone should be forced into military service, I do think that everyone should contribute to their society however possible for them. Whether it is through small community service projects, such as with the National Honor Society, running for political office, regardless of the power involved, or going straight into the military, it is your own choice how you should contribute to your society. This is your world, so you should care enough to protect it.
So, thank you, war veterans. Today is your day. For the veterans have taken a risk that not many others have -- risking their life to protect the lives of others.

Whenever my dad sees someone in fatigues, he walks up to them, shakes their hand, and thanks them for their service.
When he does that, I can hardly keep my eyes dry! So moving, and our soldiers do it willingly. THANKS GUYS (AND GIRLS)!!

We should protest against war, but not against soldiers. They are making the ultimate sacerfice, and they should be respected and honored in every way for that.
