Entertainment Obssession

It’s amazing how much we worship celebrities. I’ve always wondered how is it that the people with careers that absolutely do nothing for the world or our country and are not productive in anyway make more money than the jobs that do make a difference in the world. Why is it that a football player or movie star or a rock star make millions of dollars a year, while people like Doctors, Social Workers, Teachers make a lot less than that and they are the ones who have a purpose, they are the ones that save lives, create living conditions and try and save people from poverty and lack of education. Why don’t the important occupations make millions of dollars? Those are the careers that make the difference.
Why is the world so obsessed with entertainment? Especially in the United States. These movie stars and rock stars and sport athletes do nothing for society. They create entertainment for those who can afford it. That’s all they do. What about those in poverty? Those who are hungry? Those who are chastised for their beliefs, race or gender? Do the celebrities help them? No, they only worry about themselves. It’s amazing how materialistic and selfish people are in this world. We’re crashing because we’re spending millions of dollars on entertainment instead of helping our country and other countries that need our help, that need to survive. This needs to change, we should be spending our money to something that makes a difference for us individually as well as our society and perhaps beyond.

I plan to build a career off of the fact that the U.S. is the leader in the entertainment industry. It's what our country is good at. Japan does electronics, China does--well everything else, and so on.

And you can't just say that every celebrity does nothing to help. There are plenty of celebrities who donate a lot of money to all sorts of causes. Don't lump 'em all up in one category. That's like saying all ProgUsers like the color blue.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think

They make that sort of money because of the consumers. the public allows this to happen. If you do not appreciate movies and sports entertainment( i don't like it either) then just don't part take in the activities.
yes, it is upsetting to think about, but people want an escape from everyday life, and entertainment allows for it to happen.

Entertainment will always be the leading industry with people in it making more money than doctors and teachers because people want an escape...thats all it is. after having a grueling day at work...you want to come home, turn on the tv and watch your favorite show and relax. people go to the movies to see their favorite actor's latest...people could actually care less about giving doctors a raise or teachers a raise..sad to say..because they do not provide entertainment. they do not make us laugh. they do not provide an escape from the everyday world that grinds us down. yes...if we did pay more attention to the ones that actually do things for our country...we would be in better shape...but that change is a long way off...especially in times like these...
