What are the main objectives of this lifetime?
We have been "made flesh" for a reason, I believe that reason is essentially to grow as individual spirits and to contribute to the growth of spirit in its entirety. We are here to love one another. To experience life to the fullest. You may say 'Who would want to experience a life like this?' But, we cant decide how our life is. We are born into the world. And it is from then that we being our experience. Love, Hate, Passion, Kindness, Sincerity, Jealousy. Beautiful emotions. Tingling sensations. Butterflies. Who wouldn't want to experience it?
Do all forms of life possess a distinct, nonphysical spirit?
Life is the effect of spirit seeking to impose its will upon the largely deterministic physical realm. Each living entity is the result of individuation from spirit, with circumstances, personality, character and experience unique to its particular incarnation. As such all life possesses, or is part of, spirit; with spirit being more "distinct" or individuated in the case of "higher" organisms. In the case of "lower" species the hand of spirit is less firm upon the entity and determinism plays a greater role in shaping its destiny. The physical realm is a manifestation of spirit and as such even non-living physical entities exist only at the will of spirit. Physical life exists elsewhere in the universe. There are also other, nonphysical, forms that individuated spirit may take. Often we are drawn to the form of existence we previously experienced and so choose to be reincarnate in similar circumstances. But it is not inconceivable that we may be reborn as other species, or even in nonphysical form. It is, however, unlikely that we shall reincarnate as a less developed species as such a scenario provides reduced opportunity for experiential growth.
Something I have been thinking about lately is past life's loves reincarnated to meet again and again. When I searched, I was happy with the results.
'Through the lens of reincarnation, soul mates are seen as very bonded souls who choose to unite as a couple again and again. They have shared many lives and experiences and both wish to continue the relationship as different people. The deep understanding that exists between these two souls is a bonus that helps both partners grow and develop. They help each other reach their full potential more easily than first time partners. Soul mates can also be parents or children, friends, relatives, coworkers. The closeness, the soul bond isn't restricted to romantic relationships. There is also no hard and fast rules about gender - couples can take turns being either male or female. However, it seems common for couples to express memories of being the same sex as they are in the present life. It could be though, that they don't recognize their mate in any memories where the genders are reversed. It might be hard to picture your husband as a woman and vice versa.'
I wonder how many people have had this feeling. Because I mean, I know I have. But also. It's like it says. It doesn't have to be romantic. Which. I believe. And I myself know that I have found this person. And we are best friends. I have had dreams about it, too. 3 actually. 1 in which was a romantic relationship, but all 3 were of the same soul, though not the same person. It's just nice to know that it doesn't have to be romantic. I remember how lucid the dreams were, how I was making the decisions, and seeing the outcomes. Though it had just felt like it was playing out exactly how it had. Like I was reliving a beautiful past memory. Every time I had one of those dreams, I woke up crying. It's such a beautiful, weird, and crazy feeling. To this day, I treasure the friendship I have with this person. And they too, agree, that they feel the same about the situation.
Words I decided to look up today:
Reality, in everyday usage, means "the state of things as they actually exist". The term reality, in its widest sense, includes everything that is, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible. Reality in this sense may include both being and nothingness, whereas existence is often restricted to being. In other words, "reality", as a philosophical category includes the formal concept of "nothingness" and articulations and combinations of it with other concepts.
Nature, in the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural world, physical universe, material world or material universe. "Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. Manufactured objects and human interaction are not considered part of nature unless qualified in ways such as "human nature" or "the whole of nature". Nature is generally distinguished from the supernatural. It ranges in scale from the subatomic to the galactic.
Space is the boundless extent within which matter is physically extended and objects and events have positions relative to one another. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of the boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. In mathematics spaces with different numbers of dimensions and with different underlying structures can be examined. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the universe although disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework.
Epistemology (from Greek επιστήμη - episteme, "knowledge" + λόγος, "logos") or theory of knowledge is a branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope of knowledge. The term was introduced into English by the Scottish philosopher James Frederick Ferrier (1808-1864).
Death is the termination of the biological functions that define living organisms. It refers both to a specific event and to a conceptual condition —the true nature of which has for millennia been a central concern of religious traditions and philosophy, in particular with regard to the concept of an afterlife.
The terms afterlife, life after death, and hereafter refer to the continued existence of the soul, spirit or mind of a human (or animal) after physical death. The major views on the afterlife derive from religion, esotericism and metaphysics. In many popular views, this continued existence often takes place in a spiritual or immaterial realm. Deceased persons are usually believed to go to a specific realm or plane of existence after death, usually determined by their actions during life. By contrast, the term reincarnation refers to an afterlife that is a second, physical life in this world.
