Just like rotating Stock

I know that increasing social commentary has noted the trend of young women, high school girls, even, having babies. It’s almost like an accessory, a prop. Need something to go with your new handbag? Get a diaper bag! How cool it looks to walk down the street with your sunglasses and sleeping child in the stroller with your cup of Starbucks in the cup holder on top.
These children always seem to be babies, you know? Never older children. When one grows, they get another, like a rotating stock. I rarely see them sporting teenagers. (Although that could be because the teenagers are already sporting themselves.)
In my small apartment building, many of the tenants are following along the same pattern, only not with babies. With puppies.
New people move in, nary an animal among them. After several weeks, however, almost as though they’re on a schedule, they get a puppy. A precious, curious, wiggly little creature that is too young to have control over their bladder when they get excited. Which is all the time.
Then, the owners all stand together outside on the front lawn, just like at a church play group, and they talk about different difficulties they’re each having with their respective pets.
And just like with the children, as the puppies gets older, the owners get another. Just like rotating stock.

That is a very interesting observation. I am pretty sure this is negative ...relating babies to rotating stock but the puppy thing is okay... isn't it?

Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out. ~T
