The Role Experience should Play in the Elections

Experience. Something that Mccain has repeatedly mentioned as his strong point and as Obama's weakness. Experience can be important there is no doubt about that. However I don't see how Mccain's experience should be the deciding factor in choosing between thte candidates. Voters should ONLY look at the candidate's platform. Now this may be obvious to some, if not all of you, but most of the republicans who i've met are voting for Mccain, because obama lacks experience. This makes no sense! It will not make him a better president, since he does not have the experience for change. Which we need right now, the republican system of economy has not worked and has lead us to the current economic crises! No if you truly believe experience is important. Lets look at Mccain's experience: He's been in washington forever, consistently voting for deregulation and tax cuts for oil companies. He was a POW, now i respect POWS they served our government and were tortured, but how does this make him better? I want someone to answer this cause i don't know... Lets see what else.. supported all of bush policies, decided we should go to Iraq despite its loose connection with Al-Qaeda and this caused Al-qaeda to become stronger in Afghanistan and border of pakistan... His military experience: crashed planes cause he didn't know what he was doing. Platform?! Yikes, do youmean all that crap candidates spew to try to get elected? Please. All we can do is look at history of voting and stances and look at what a candidate has invested and supported. For this fact I do not like Sen. Obama even though he has cute ideas and is charismatic. Maybe I am a Republican but I know I am for less government and deregulation. I think Americans Can do it what the dream is without having the government come and screw everything up...that is what the giovernment does. SO having less is good, Candidate Obama wants more...to me this is bad and creates dependance of American's on the government when it is suppose to be the other way around.

I get the feeling I have rambled my point is if you base your judgement on the platforms and TV you are libel to make a foolish ignorant (not necessarily wrong)choice and be suprised when things go awry.

Please do your research into the candidates and what their backgrounds are and do not just pick because one is prettier on TV then the other.

Oh and quit stereotyping and guessing about the other's motives

First of all, most of the time, candidates say what they feel voters want to hear in order for them to get elected. That pile of mostly nonsense gets deemed their "platform". Experience makes a huge difference!!! Knowing how things have worked in the past, how they haven't worked, and having the experience needed to formulate good new ideas is very important! I don't want a President elected with 2 years of experience as a community organizer, suddenly shows up out of nowhere to get elected to the Senate, and has only been in that position for a few years. Let's give Obama at least a few more years in the Senate to build up his experience. Right now, I do not believe that he has the experience needed to run the country well. He claims that he won't raise taxes, but he has a huge new spending plan. Where's he going to get that money from? He wants to put more regulations on Wall Street, on healthcare, and on everything that affects people's lives. Where is he going to get the money to do this? TAXES! He will claim that he's been forced to raise taxes due to the urgent crises that arise. Don't believe him when he says how much he can get the government to help you, and not raise your taxes!

Secondly, it's not the Republican's fault that we are in the current economic crisis. This problem has been traced back to the days of Clinton. During his administration, everybody thought the economy was going great, but it was during those years that the banks made all of these bad loans and extremely risky mortgages. It's NOT the republicans fault that we are in the situation we are.
