Me: More than Carbon and Hydrogen

Hi, my name is Alex Gray. I am a 21 year student attending Gateway Community College in Connecticut.
I used to be a student at the University of Miami, FL but when I found more time to party than study, I subsequently got dropped. Needless to say, there are decisions in my past I regret and if I could do it all over again, I would spend more time reading books, than drinking.
Other than my rambunctious past, I am a normal guy, of African-American decent. I love music, I play the piano and drums, and I am addicted to cartoons. One thing I've noticed thought, is since the days of Rugrats and Rocko's Modern Life, Nickelodeon has been slacking on making good cartoons. I currently study biomedical engineering, (I dont really know why) but my passion for,(or resentment for I should say), the pharmaceutical industry has led me down this path. I hope to one day rid the world of evil cooporate bullies and give everyone the cheap healthcare they need. You can say I'm an Idealist. Before I started school at UM, I had the most beautifully painted picture of the world. One where there was no greed, no corruption and where everyone was friendly and just. Once I got a taste of the real world thought, I realized that our needs as humans were surplanted by our wants as capitalists. Most of us could live off a budget that didn't include the mid-sized luxury car, or the extra bedroom in our home. But "keeping up with the Jone's" as they say has become one of our societies mottos. Look around us, all over the world, our financial markets and institutions are suffering because of greed. A few self serving individuals putting the hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars that regular, low income families need, in places that benefit only them. Imagine if our CEO's made one million dollars less each year, thats a million dollars the companies can afford to spend on jobs they had cut.
I'm sorry, going off on tangents is one of my known trademarks, I hope to patent it one day ;). In calculus class we study derivatives and according to Sir Issac Newton, founder of gravity and inventor of calculus(yes I am a nerd, how I got kicked out of school is testiment to the party lifestyle Miami has to offer) the slope of the tangent line is one of the most beautiful things in nature. I hope to one day, fully understand what that means, and make the most out of my most sparse and sporadic thoughts.
Until then, thank you for reading my blog, I shall be keeping it up to date with my current tangential thoughts on Politics, and Government, The Media, Sports, Science and the Arts.

You may say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one. Keep up the good fight--can't wait to hear you justify your resentment for the pharmaceutical industry.
