Sound Wave-Shoegaze

My most recent musical exploration has been into the genre of Shoegaze music For those of you who haven't heard of it Shoegaze is as defined by Wikipedia; a genre of alternative rock that emerged from the United Kingdom in the late 1980s called "shoegazing" because the musicians in these bands often maintained a motionless performing style, standing on stage and staring at their effects pedals or the floor while playing their instruments; hence, the idea that they were gazing at their shoes. The music is characterized by harmonic structure, electronic roots, syncopation, and use ambient/noise effects. I find it incredibly relaxing and great music to listen to while studying. The best part of the genre for me at least is that it pushes the boundaries of electronic music beyond the overused “unce unce unce” into something that depending on how closely you listen can be either relaxing ambient music or plethora of syncopated rhythms, interesting melodies and complex harmonies. Mostly I've been listening to M83 but if you just google or wiki search shoegaze you'll get a good sized list, and I strongly advise looking them up.
That was my soundwave now I’d like to know yours. Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I absolutely love M83. I hadn't heard the term "shoegaze" before. I kind of just lumped M83 into my post-rock/electronic category with Album Leaf and Sigur Ros. Thanks for teaching me a new word. :-)

I don't think Air and Lali Puna are in the shoegaze category, but if you get a chance, definitely check both of them out. :-)
