The Truth is Out There? I'll take your word for it.

This is my call to Christians. Tell me where in the Bible Jesus says He is divine. Where does He say He is one with God? Where does it say that He had to die for our sins? For that matter, why did He have to die for our sins? Where are Hell, Satan, the Trinity, angels, the Holy Grail? Where does it say that Mary Magdeline was a prostitute? (It doesn't.) These are all basic Christian theological beliefs. Many people, from the time they were children could spit these ideas out as honestly and faithfully as though they were saying the grass is green. These children grow into adults who keep giving the pat Christian answers as faithfully as children, but also as ignorantly.

Has the search for truth become so tedious that you can't even stop and read a book to find out where your pastor got his beliefs? Is it really just so easy to hear it preached from the pulpit that you don't feel like taking the time to find the answers yourself? How easy is it to read, for crying out loud! Christians take it for granted that everyone at church just knows the basic Christian concepts but what about when you go into the rest of the world and they have questions? What are you going to do then? "Here's my pastor's card." Oh please!

Straight up, if you don't know why you believe it, then don't try to tell me you believe it. Trusting Mommy and Daddy to tell you the truth doesn't cut it. They won't always be there to answer life's questions. Grow up and start figuring life out for yourself. You may come to find that Mommy and Daddy aren't always right.

Does anyone value the search for truth? I'm not just talking Christianity anymore. So many people are willing to take things at face value. Marijuana is illegal, therefore it is bad. Sarah smokes marijuana. She is bad. Really? Are you willing to take PEOPLE at face value? If there is anything I hope and pray that people search for truth in, it is each other.

people tend to believe what they hear rather than researching for true facts. Alot of information is biased and people don't take the time to look.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am voting for Lewis Black.
