Sometimes I get dismayed by my mother and the collective of Americans who refuse to vote for Obama just based on the detail that he is black. It is unfair for them to judge so severely. To criticize a man that has overcome obstacles, a man that is here with the honest and genuine purpose of helping our country and more importantly the people of America. They don't understand that he understands how it feels like to not have food on the table, to have no health insurance, to not have the money to pay for an education. I may be young but the reason why I like Barack Obama stems from his universal connection with the American people. It is a fascinating attraction. We are submerged in so much debt, in so much crisis that we want change. I believe that Obama can bring that change. There's no doubt that McCain and Palin advocate change but what I want from a presidential candidate is their ability to relate to me.
I just wish that I could vote so that I could be a part of this revolutionary election that is monumental in scale.
Barack Obama's mere role in this presidential election opens the doors for people of different minorities to dream big and move forward.
