Politically Correct or Politically Crippling?

Today's society focuses heavily on being politically correct. In articles you can't find the words "black" or "Indian" no its "African American" and "Native American". The world is so caught up in making sure no one is offended or angered by what he or she says or prints. The question is why? If you have something to say, say it. Stop dancing around with words like "womyn" because the word "women" would subjugate women to men. I think sometimes we get to caught up in not offending anyone that we forget what we want to say. It's exhausting trying to remember what one can and cannot say. The truth is if people are whine so much about the word "womyn" then we need to re-prioritize. I glance at articles in magazines and newspapers today and I have to search for the meaning of some sentences because their so bogged down by being "politically correct". I think because we try so hard not to hurt anyone's feelings and give equality to everyone that we actually end up calling attention to whatever their particular quirk is. I think the more uncomfortable one is with a certain person the more effort they put into being "politically correct". The truth is we are all just people. There is no real difference among us. It is the personality that makes the man, and that will not change no matter if you are being "politically correct"
