The great thing about this country is the freedom we have. We have the freedom to choose our religion, the freedom of speech, and many other rights. And what I like most is our right to protest.
But why should we have to protest in this country? Shouldn’t we get what we need without having to become active?
My favorite moments in history are those when people were oppressed and stood up to the government. It was those times that really get me hyped up about history.
My personal favorite is the story of Alice Paul. She was one of the many women fighting for the 19th Amendment to be passed, thus granting women the right to vote. Everyday, she and a team of women would gather in front of the White House and protest to President Woodrow Wilson about this matter. At that time, Wilson’s least concern was that of the women.
When World War I dragged America in, the whole country shattered. No longer could you speak out against the government since it was a time of crisis. Everyone’s rights were taken away instantly. Who does that?!
The women continued to protest and stand before the White House, but now, things had changed. Men and women passed and gave the women a face of disgust due to the fact they were going against a country at War.
In the end, the women were incarcerated after being savagely dragged to prison and held as political prisoners. Seeing that torturing women was clearly unconstitutional, Woodrow Wilson let them go and pushed for the 19th Amendment.
Alice Paul and women everywhere were finally true citizens, since they were able to vote. And that’s the good thing!
But the struggle continues. Women have run for Congress, Senate, and recently the Presidency. I don’t know about you, but I want to see a woman make it to the White House before I die. And that’s why I support Sarah Palin. Alice Paul might have hated her, but she’s still a woman who has come so close to the White House and now, she better win!
Women, Protesting, and More!

I would hope you support Sarah Palin for reasons other than her gender. A vagina shouldn't be a free pass to potentially lead a nation.

Am I to understand you supported Hillary before she lost the primaries? It seems funny to vote for genitalia, especially since we've never seen Palin's vagina or Obama and McCain;s penises. If that's what we're voting for, I think they'd better start showing us what they've got under the suits.

How else will we know what we're voting for?

Fight to the death! Or bear wrestling. Or who has a bigger car. Or who can fix their biggest car the fastest when it's broken from high speed racing explosions.
Something manly like that. The manliest man shall be the winner.

I'm surprised you actually know the story of Alice Paul, most people don't. She was a great feminist and a great woman. She fought for women's rights until the day she died. I don't think, however; that she would have wanted us to vote for someone just because of their gender. Alice Paul fought her entire life, to ensure that women would be equal to men. I'm sure she would want Sarah Palin to be judged on her abilites and not her gender.
