ProgressiveU Advertising Guidelines
The user experience at ProgressiveU is our most vital element. The look, feel, caliber of discussion, review and functionality is continually shaped to meet the needs of our users. Because ProgressiveU strives to make the service completely user friendly, everything that exists on the ProgressiveU site, including advertisements, should contribute to the overall experience of ProgressiveU members and visitors.
Our Advertising Philosophy
ProgressiveU is committed to protecting and serving our users by keeping the site clean and free from intrusive advertising. We place advertisements from selected sponsors, but we believe that advertising should be tailored for our users and contribute to the overall ProgressiveU experience. Advertisements should be relevant, up to date, and consistent with the ProgressiveU belief that students should be encouraged to "Think, Speak Up and Reach Out."
Individuals, organizations and businesses wishing to become ProgressiveU advertisers should familiarize themselves with the guidelines (provided below). All advertisements placed must adhere to these guidelines. Furthermore, ProgressiveU reserves the right to reject any advertising that we deem contrary to our purposes. Additionally, all advertising must comply with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Sizing/Placement of Advertisements
# Advertisements may be no larger than 536 X 206 for page placement or 186 X 306 for sidebar placement.
# Text advertisements with no graphical display placed on the sidebars may contain no more than 40 words.
# Sizing, placement and pricing must be finalized prior to placement; no changes (except in cases of violations of these guidelines and Terms of Use) will be made without consent from all parties. No agreements will be made without prior review of the advertisement by ProgressiveU staff.
# No advertisement will be placed directly into entries (blog posts, forum topics, comments, etc) from users.

2. Landing Pages/ Destination URLS
# Ads that contain a URL in the body must link to the same URL.
# The ad must send all users to the same page when clicked.
# Landing pages that utilize pop-ups, pop-overs and pop-unders upon entering or leaving the site are prohibited.
# If a user clicks to close the page, it should close with no other behavior.
# All ads should open in one new window. Multiple windows will not be tolerated.
# No personal information may be collected on the ad in order to click.
# Secure connections must be used when collecting personal information from users.
# Advertising copy must be related to the landing page
# The ad should clearly represent the company and product being advertised.
# No ad that contains a link to a site or page that promotes or facilitates collection of usage information (including passwords, usernames, and demographic information) from a user's computer without consent will be tolerated.
# No advertisements that contain or distribute spyware, malware, viruses, trojan attacks or similar will be tolerated.
# Advertisements and destination URLS must be reviewed by ProgressiveU prior to placement to ensure adherence to posted guidelines.
3. Punctuation, Grammar, Etc
# All ads must use correct spelling, grammar, be free of unnecessary capitalization, spacing and repetition.
# Symbols may not be used in place of letters and any symbol used should be used as it was originally intended (no $top for "stop", etc).
4. Language and image content
# Provocative images and content will not be accepted.
# Adult content, nudity, sexual terms, and overtly offensive language and image content will not be accepted.
# Ads that offer incentives for clicking or for performing other tasks will not be accepted.
# Flashing ads and ads with audio and video content that may not be silenced or stopped will not be accepted.
# Ads must not be deceptive and any ad including a price should link directly to a page detailing costs and qualifying behaviors.
We will not accept advertising promoting or referencing any of the following:
# Alcoholic Beverage or Consumption
# Gambling (including poker, bingo, online casinos)
# Ringtones or similar subscription services.
# Software downloads
# Chain letters, scams, illegal activity or contests
# Pharmaceutical products
# Adult social networking sites (such as Adult Friend Finder)
# Non-accredited colleges or institutions
# Political or religious agendas with known associations to hate crimes, terrorist activities or criminal histories.
# Hate speech in any form and directed at any group or individual.
5. Copyrights, Trademarks, Spam
# No content that infringes upon trademarks or copyrights of another (individual or business) should be used.
# Advertisers must have intellectual property rights to the content/images and be permitted to display the content/images used.
# Advertisements promoting or facilitating 'spam' or other content that violates applicable law will not be tolerated.
