I was reading the local paper on Friday and as I skimmed the titles, one caught my eye. "Suicide awareness events help deal wiht issue." The article gave various facts about suicide. Apparently September is National Suicide Awareness Month, now I did not know that. There are some many facts I didn't know about suicide, like do you know over 30,000 deaths in America are because of suicide? Depression is the number one cause of suicide and it's not just one or two times of feeling depressed it's presistant feelings of depression. These little blurbs of information are one's that I believe schools should share this information with the students, so the students can realize the signs and ask for help or request help for their friends who could be depressed.
Well I must go now I just lost a contact and typing with one eye is hard.

That is very true. So many people feel that suicide is the only answer to their depression, but if they knew there was an outlet for help, maybe some would take it. Also, awareness of people without depression would help because they could help friends and stop the silence about depression and suicide. Medicine is not the only answer.
This is a real question, no sarcasm intended at all - You indicated that depression is one of the major causes of suicide, but what are some others? I a really curious to know what other things can drive someone to suicide.....
