The Price of an education.

Every year it seems like colleges are raising the price of tuition, or at least the price of something, but my question is how are students suppose to afford to go to school these days.

The idea of college is to get more of an education so that you can get a better job and succed in the world...but with the price of college going up it seems like all that is occuring is that the government is forcing students to go more in debt.....So my question than is if we are leaving school more in debt how are we suppose to pay off these loans and be able to live when we graduate from college.....?

Furthermore where is all this money going..I personally live on campus in dorms, and over the time i have lived on campus i have seen no improvements in teh dorms, and i have also seen the price of dorms go up 7.6%.   The dorms cost about $900 a month, while living off campus one block away only costs $400 a month...are dorms trying to rip us off with how much they are charging us for the privlige of lving on campus, and furthermore what is that privlige? having to share a bathroom with at least 3 other people if not a whole wing or floor of peope, and having to deal with drunk individuals coming back at all times of the day and night?  I think the American Education System needs to be reworked, and prices need to be lowered!

There's no doubt about it. College is too much money and yet it is an essential part of life for most people. Whoever says you can't put a price on a good education is wrong sadly.

You're not the only one feeling this way. I'm worried if I graduate that diploma is still worth something. The answer to your question is they can't, it'll take at least 10 years if they're lucky. Even then it's hard to tell if they just try to pay off as soon as possible or just make minimum payments. I have no clue where that money is going, aside from making me pull $600 in textbooks out of my own butt and I'll never see even a 4th of it when I resell it, parking space, leftover tuition, hidden fees they'll pull over me. I personally think the big heads are stuffing it in their own pockets. Church does it, Government does it, not surprised schools did it. I wouldn't bother with dorms unless you want a big expensive lesson in life. The so-called purpose of dorms is to immerse yourself in the college scene. What will you do with all that free time, study? I highly doubt it. Too many sick people around, and too many theives coming on campus. That is life, and it is never what the pamphlet says it was.
