Political Disgrace

In 1997, Clinton was outted on his affair with Monica Lewinsky. In 2004, former New Jersey Governor Jim Mcgreevy resigned because of his homorsexual affair. Now, in 2008, New York Governor, Eliot Spitzer, has resigned because of his prostitution with a girl named Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Do I see some trend happening here? We, the voters, had listened to countless speeches about how great they will make out country become, only to be disappointed in the end by their sex scandals. Is there anything that can be done to prevent people like these from being in office?

Unfortunately, each scandal happened or was found out about, after the person was elected into office. So although we would like to have strong leaders, we end up with weak and corrupted liars.

Such political officers bring a disgrace to this country that makes one not as proud to be an American. I believe that we shouldn't settle for someone when we vote. In the upcoming elections:
Don't vote for someone who's morals won't match up to the laws that this country has.
If someone has corrupt values and are in your party, don't vote for them just cause they're in the same political party.
Make sure that their values in the end will make a difference in this country and not corrupt it.
Don't allow another scandal happen.

I agree. TO many scandals. But sometimes even the most respectable people get caught in adultery. Some times a few lapses of judgment can ruin lives. Also most politicians Republican or Democrat don't do what they say they will.

Exactly my point. We have to be careful who we decide will run our country, but sometimes it's not good enough.
