The Bottle BIll

Hello!
For five weeks, some of my collegeues and I have been planning a rally for the Tennessee Container Deposit Legeslation, better known as the Bottle Bill. The bill entails a five cent refundable deposit on every plastic bottle you buy. The government will set up redemption centers everywhere, including grocery stores etc. When you return your bottle to be recycled, you will be refunded your five cents. Five cents will be taken off of taxes for litter clean up, and put on the actual bottle itself. So initially, it will seem like a hastle to be paying 5 cents more on every bottle, but in the long run you were paying that five cents anyway, it was just for taxes. And With the Container Deposit Legeslation, you will actually be gaining five cents when you return it!

This bill is really great in many different aspects. It is supposed to increse recycling from 10 percent to 90 percent! That is amazing! An incentive to recycle is exactly what we need! We are wasting so many bottles!!

Also, This bill will help homeless people who are willing to clean up parks or find empty bottles and take them to be recycled. It will give them somewhat of an income.

This bill also provides a ton of more jobs. People would have to work the redemption centers!

So you might ask why anyone would be against this bill?
Well, for one we have lazy people who would rather not recycle because they do not realize what WE ARE DOING TO OUR EARTH!
Besides the lazy people, the only other people that would be against this bill are those that work for the bottling companies. For each bottle, the company will lose three cents.
