The Brain knows Things

Sometimes I get the feeling that the brain knows what the mind does not, or the mind knows what the brain does not, either way the phenomenon is amazing.

The link of the thought in the brain telling the mind often goes unnoticed, or ignored. When it is listened to, things turn out well. Some believe that it is angels or spirits whispering in our ears telling us ways to make life simpler. The question is if the person can even hear ‘it’ or bother to listen.

Background for understanding: I work in a maintenance shop for the U.S. Air Force and we do not work on cars or planes, we work support equipment of sorts, called Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). The maintenance that we do is not all that different from cars and planes, not the same either. We also deliver our things to other shops or to the flight line to be used on aircraft.

Instance 1

The driver 2 got a call because one our AGE pieces would not start. Obviously it was the batteries so the driver grabbed the jumper box (like jumper cables attached to a charging unit). I told the driver to grab a wrench for the battery terminals incase they are loose. This got me a weird look like I was crazy, but I had more stripes and obedience ensued. When the driver got back, more weird looks, as I was told that the terminal was loose and it was a good thing the wrench was brought along. This never happens, the cables never are the problem…it is always the charge.

Listen to voice and spoke up about it…all is good.

Instance 2

Driver 1 had picked up an AGE unit and put it on the ready to go line. He got out, leaving the door open and unhitched it from the truck. He noticed a document had fallen and decided to hurry and lock the unit down and get the paper instead of waiting. He went to the passenger seat to pick it up and went to walk back around to get in driver’s seat. The truck suddenly rolled backward, he tried to hold it back from damage but ultimately moved out of the bleeping way. The opened driver door hit another thing and bent backward and put the truck out of commission (door could no longer close).

Either no voice or no listening…all is not good.

Instance 3

Driver 2 had to use one of two of our tractor snow plow things because both of our trucks were out of order. These tractors are loud, single seat, trap and Velcro covered snow movers that over heat quickly on warm windy days such as today. She went to get the keys from the stock room and she grabbed what she thought was the wrong keys and went to switch them. She took the tractor around to get the mobile lighting unit just to find out the she grabbed the one with out the pintle hook (tail hook thing at back for towing things around). She had to come all the way back to the shop to switch to the tractor she had originally grabbed the keys for.

Disregarding voice….not such a good idea.

These are just examples from today. It really does happen often to all kinds of people, the results are varying. I could go on with examples about the slap in the face of a sleeping person, or the guy on an ice cream bucket over a dynamite stick or the sip for a friend, or whatever. The point is it happens a lot, for simple basic seemingly pointless things or important life saving damage preventing things.

Do you hear? Do you listen and shrug it off exclaiming ‘I knew IT’ later?

Is it a spiritual voice, an internal voice, or ESP?

Either way, listen to it and amazing things will happen. The more you listen and react the more you will make a difference.

Good words of wisdom. Can't even count how many times things like that happen to me.
