Yes, I believe beyond reasonable doubt that global warming is happening right now, and if we don't do something now our children will pay the price. With the moment in irrelevance out of the way, we can now return to the regularly scheduled blog.
Now, I know some of you may be wondering, "How can something that could potentially flood the greater part of the coastal United States, along with other areas, be a good thing?" Or, if you're part of the Internet community I grew up with, "OMG WTF do u meen?!!!!!!1111oneonesix"
Let me explain: No, I am not a fan of coastal areas getting flooded, nor do I like the icecaps melting and leaving many arctic species for dead. What I do appreciate, though, is that it's been brought to our attention. As in regardless of the view held by you, dear reader, enough influential people believe it. They, of course, convince society that it's happening, regardless of whether it's happening or not. In the end, society takes a good, hard look at transportation, business, technology, and their combined impact on the environment. Out of this good hard look comes new public opinion, which begets new legislation, technology, transportation and business practices to lessen the impact on environment. With the profits a business will make from the adored 'green' products made by the company, everyone should (theoretically) walk home happy.
Which leaves me appalled by the opposition. Sure, businesses would save money if they did things without worrying about pollution. However, a few billion dollars won't be worth much without a planet to live on. And don't even get me started on the contents of Sharon Begley's article in the August 13th issue of Newsweek. How any respectable scientist can be bought off by Big Oil and self-serving Republicans is beyond me.
In conclusion: Is global warming really happening? Just say yes. The world will thank you for it.

Thank you for writing this :]
