What is your (intended) major/career?
Ultimately I plan on attaining a Doctorate Degree in Medieval History. It's going to take me so long to get that, though, that I have no idea what I'm going to do after I finally get there.
What advice do you have for other bloggers?
This is going to sound trite, but there is no way I can bestow any sort of meaningful advice in a short paragraph. I could say the same old thing, blog about whatever you're feeling passionately about, research your stance, and blah blah blah. I think instead I'll just pass on some of the first words of advice I got from another member when I was still new to Progressive U; I was told "read first, blog later." Essentially, read through many, many blogs from several different authors to expose yourself to a variety of styles and topics, then develop your own and run with it.
Are you in school, and if so, what year are you?
Yes; I am a senior in college. I graduate in October of 2008 (yay) and then enter into my Master's Degree program the next day (eh?).
If you had to describe yourself (or your blog) in one word what would it be? Me? No idea. How about comical? I like to see people laugh and I tend to make it happen quite often (Just ask Fallon)... My blog? I guess that depends on the day. Some days it's rather deep and a little dark; other days it's filled with happy stories. Overall my blog is very diverse.
Out of all your blogs, which is your favorite? I have two that I couldn't possibly rate unequally.
Progressive Pudding - Why I am here This blog was really a turning point for me on Progressive U. I was going through a rough time and with a few exceptions I felt that I wasn't really "fitting in" with the Progressive U community. A lot of comments and blogs were being posted at the time that seemed to almost degrade people who had come to Progressive U for the scholarship. This blog was my retaliation, of sorts; Hopefully, it helped to inspire other bloggers to truly look at what they're doing and why they choose to stay with Progressive U.
And Attacked by a Moron . This blog was truly inspirational even for me. I still get goosebumps whenever I go back to read it. Plus, it's got a bit of sentimental value in it; I had a few friends on Progressive U, but this blog really introduced me to the Progressive U community. And besides that, it had to deal with a very important issue.
If you could take a trip to anywhere in the world, free of charge, where would you go?
Last year I was invited to be part of an anthropological study for 4 months in China. Of course it wasn't free, I had to pay for travel, room, and board. But the whole idea was intriguing and if I could have afforded to go I would have. Although, China wouldn't have been my first choice, either. I'm much more interested in learning about Medieval Europe or Classical Greece/Rome. So perhaps one of those places.
If you had a million dollars to spend on anything but yourself, how would you spend it?
I would first start a scholarship geared toward the Pagan Community. After that, I'm not sure.
Who do you like to debate with?
Non-emotional people. I love talking about any controversial subject as long as I can do so with people who don't become emotionally involved. I detest people who debate out of anger or argue in an attempt to change my mind about something. Why can't people just accept that they aren't going to change my mind about anything and just explain their point without trying to change my mind?
What is your favorite article of clothing and why?
Comfy Pants! LOL. It sounds weird, but I have spent so much of my life in high heels, business suits, slacks, sweaters, skirts, and nylons... I really just enjoy throwing my hair up in a bun and throwing on a pair of yoga pants and a big T-Shirt. There's nothing like sitting in complete and utter comfort.
