Antibiotics or the Natural Remedy?

Tagged:  •    •    •

Recently I've done quite a lot of thought on sinus infections and effective cures.
My sister and I used to get them really bad, and took antibiotic after antibiotic, eventually becoming immune to them.
It was quite frustrating, really.
This sounds kind of funny, but one day we were watching good old Oprah and a doctor talked about the Neti Pot, a small ceramic teapot-looking thing. How it works is you fill it with salt water, tilt your head and insert the little spout into one nostril. This allows the salt water to pass through your nasal cavity and out your other nostril.
It sounds disgusting, but WOW. Breathing feels amazing afterwards.
I've had quite a few friends give me looks of disgust and complete shock at the description, then bashfully crawl back when they find how effective it is! It's really amusing.
The salt water cleans allergens and particles out, and if you continue to do it a few times a day, there goes your sinus infection!
How much more natural can you get, right?
It sounds so simple, and who knew that just a simple concoction of salt and water beats those antibiotics you spend your money on only to find it won't be working in a few weeks?
I think we've found a solution for now.

Recently, we've been experimenting with inhaling steams with a few drops of lavender and eucalytpus oils. Not only is it helpful for breathing, but the natural oils are helpful for cleansing facial pores... =)

Have there been any studies on such a knee-slapping idea as this?

The Once-ler: Well, what do you want? I should shut down my factory, fire a hundred-thousand workers? Is that good economics, is that sound for the country?

do you do any reseach before asking dumb questions like this?
Not to be mean but seriously just open a new yahoo search engine, type in
" studies on (topic or product)"

Once upon a time in my little mind.

I've heard of the Neti-Pot before; I have some friends who spent a lot of time in India and came back with a Neti-Pot; apparently they are widely used there as a preventative thing; but I had no idea you could use one once you had a sinus infection and that it would clear it up...that is pretty cool, I might invest in one!

Love ya,
