In my opinion, religion is becoming an out thing in newer generations, unless their parents tell them/ make them go to church and be very involved with church at a young age. Faith is the new thing, while most are not going/ involved with a church, they are respectful to God in faith. I actually find myself not being religious but faithful.
It is very hard to be a part of a specific religion or church in this new age because different affiliations have multiple opinions/ feelings about such practices ie: the catholic church is against divorces and abortion. I am not trying to pinpoint only one religion, there are many others as well that are the same way, if you are not agreeing with a church's (or religion's) point of view/ ethics then you cannot become a part of that group without changing your moral beliefs.
I also think that in respect to religions/ faith, there are too many young people that feel exactly as I do today and that is that there is no proof that the bible is a real fact. Technically it is just a BIOGRAPHY written about a HUMAN MAN who may or may not have been the son of God.
Please feel free to comment me, or message me I'm open to anything...
AND NO I am not a religion basher and yes I do belive that Jesus was the son of God, but I also believe that he was just a man until his resurrection.

I would consider myself in your position: Not necessarily religious but faithful all the same. I don't attend Church every weekend, but does that make me a sinner? Some people probably think so.
I'm doubtful about the Bible as well. I mean, if you look at it in one way, it does have great lessons and such (and this is coming from someone who hasn't read the Bible...sorry about my ignorance). It's still impossible to prove at this point. I wish someone could find some definitive evidence to prove or disprove what the Bible says, but it's hard to do that.

I know what you mean. I'm actually caught between "religion" and "faith." I wish they could fully be one and the same, but as you pointed out, in today's world, they just aren't. That's what really makes me appreciate the new contemporary service we started at my church (first service was today! ^_^). As the awesome movie opener says, at our church, we won't ask you to change your beliefs of values in order to come. We just want everyone to join us on a journey toward Jesus and have a fellowship in our faith. And that's exactly what a lot of young people today need. A place that will accept them and won't ask them to change, where they can join others on a journey of faith.
And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.
I think there is so many sects of religion it's not even funny, and honestly I don't know why...It seems to be division.I grew up in churhes of God, now I attend a non-denomiational church (which I love).
Sometimes religion, is simply religion, a set of doctrines, restrictions, rules, do's and don't's, and that's something we should not have. I believe that we need churches (non-denominational) everywhere, where the teaching is based soely upon the word of God.
